REDESIGN VS. NEW BUILD
A REDESIGN occurs when a current GolfNow website needs a new template assigned. Every 2 years a course is eligible for a redesign for $1,000.
The current site MUST have updated content prior to redesign. A template switch will only be approved.
A NEW BUILD allows for a new template and new content which includes copy and images for $2,000 (Standard) and $4,000 (Plus – must be Plus client). A Standard build includes up to 20 webpages, while a Plus build includes up to 25 webpages.
EXPECTATIONS
You can expect each site to be delivered 10 weeks from the time of receiving all collateral within the Salesforce Order.
PRIOR TO A BUILD
The following must be gathered prior to a build. The Course will work with the Activation Specialist to ensure the Course is confident in its new design:
- Template Choice (once chosen, cannot be changed. TEMPLATE LIBRARY CAN BE FOUND CLICKING HERE.)
- Domain Login Information (New builds only. Build cannot begin until credentials are provided)
- Primary and Secondary colors
- Preferred Custom Fonts (if any)
- Collateral (Course logo, All Images/Videos, Copy)
- Page List: Standard up to 20, Plus up to 25
Main Menu navigation up to 7 tabs. Sub tabs to be added under each main tab. - Promo Tiles. Provide titles, subtitles, and images for each.
- Analytics tracking codes.
BASIC DEFINITION
Promo tile – A small paragraph or blurb on the homepage dedicated to promoting/highlighting a specific offering from the golf course. Each template site offers 3 or 4 promo tiles. Most courses tend to use promo tiles to provide links to their booking engine, their wedding/special event page, or their Membership page. COLOR CHOICES
GolfNow websites come equipped with their own specific color scheme. During the design process, these colors can be changed to match the course logo. For example, a course that provides a green and white logo will be provided a website with corresponding green and white elements.
HOWEVER – If a course would prefer to use the colors already present on the template site, they will need to provide a logo with corresponding colors. For example, if a course would like to use the Austin template with its current color scheme, they should provide a corresponding bright green logo.
Colors must be provided in hex code format. We recommend using Color Codes to upload your logo, and select the corresponding colors utilized in your logo.
CUSTOM FONTS
All GolfNow websites have standard fonts included in their design. Courses are allowed to provide alternative fonts to use in lieu of the fonts available on their chosen template, so long as the fonts requested are available on Google Fonts or Adobe Fonts. Fonts that cannot be found on Google or Adobe Fonts will NOT be used. If a course would like to provide alternative fonts, designers recommend sticking to two fonts (one for all header text, one for all paragraph text) for ease and legibility.
FAQS
GolfNow does NOT provide assistance with domain purchasing and hosting. The course is always responsible for their domain renewal in order to ensure the site stays live. The course must have purchased a domain and provided the login credentials prior to starting a new build. These are needed to point the website to our hosting.
No additional plugins outside of the ones in the provided list will be added to the website. No exceptions can be made to this rule.
No. Redesigns differ from new builds in that new builds get a temporary URL at which the course’s manager (or other point of contact at the course) may “preview” the site before it is taken live. Redesigns, however, happen directly on the pre-existing site and are essentially a “flipped switch.”
No. Template changes CANNOT be reversed. If the course does not like the look of their site after a redesign/build has been completed, their only course of action would be to choose a different template from the current GolfNow template library. Should a course want a second template change, their request must be submitted to/approved by the Activations Director and/or the WordPress Product Manager (as of Jan. 2023, this would be Chris Alvarez and Caitlyn Blow, respectively).
GolfNow Standard templates are pretty rigid. Certain sections and blocks CAN move, but they may not be as aesthetically pleasing across all devices. PLUS sites do have a bit more flexibility on which sections can be “listed” first.
ALL LOGO PLACEMENT ACROSS ALL GOLFNOW WEBSITES ARE RIGID AND CANNOT BE MOVED.
No. The footer section with the copyright notice, the course’s mailing address and phone number, and NBC logo cannot receive additional objects (like the course’s logo or sponsors). The only updates that can be made are changes to the address/course name and the colors used in the section.
No. Prior to the site build, the course will need to provide its logo in the correct size and color(s).

Images are only accepted in .jpg, .jpeg, and .png formats. .heic and .gif files will NOT be accepted. Video files are only accepted in .mp4, .wmv, and .m4a file formats. ALL files must be under 2GB. Please note that when a large amount of files that are just barely under 2GB are used, the launched site may experience lag when loading across all devices.
While we do not offer a plugin for tracking analytics, we have the option to add the tracking codes for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Facebook. Please provide the codes at the time of build.

GolfNow websites allow for individual pages to be password protected. However, GolfNow does not provide individual user accounts to be used on the website. Individual logins are available through the GolfNow booking engine.
ON MAC/OSX
- Click Finder on your Dock.
- Find the image you want to check.
- Control+click (ctrl+click) your image. A menu appears.
- Click Get Info. A window appears.
- Expand the General: section to see your image’s file size.
- Expand the More Info: section to see your image’s dimensions.
ON WINDOWS
- Click the Windows Start button on your taskbar.
- Type “Windows Explorer” or “File Explorer” into the search bar.
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Find the image you want to check.
- Select your image. The dimensions and file size appear at the bottom of the window.
WPForms
We offer the following options (other forms like MailChimp and Constant Contact can be added if the course provides an embed or HTML code for it):
Customizable lead form with optional fields.
Allows for multi-player registration.
Does NOT sync to GNC automatically.
Does NOT allow for integrated payment — course MUST redirect customers to a WooCommerce product.
WOOCOMMERCE via PayPal
All sites will have the ability to install an Online Store through WooCommerce via PayPal. To begin, all sites must create a Business PayPal Account, which can be done through PayPal’s support site.
PayPal is the only current Payment Processor supported.
● PayPal will incur a credit card fee for each sale (at a base rate of 2.99%, plus $0.49
per transaction)
● To get started, provide API credentials from within the PayPal Business Account.

YOAST SEO
YOAST SEO is automatically activated at the time of build. We do not offer support for SEO changes. If interested in SEO services through GolfNow, contact your MSM.
SUGAR CALENDAR
This is the only calendar plugin we offer unless the course provides an external embed or HTML code for a third-party provider (e.g., Google Calendar).
● Allows for start/end date, as well as start/end times.
● Allows for recurring weekly or monthly events.
● Embed images or WPForm to sign up for events.
NIVO SLIDER
The Nivo Slider is capable of creating multiple photo galleries that can be added anywhere on the
website. The course can create galleries on their own, as well. All images in the Nivo Slider must be sized CONSISTENTLY with similar (if not exact) widths and heights.
REDIRECTION PLUGIN
This plugin allows for old or removed pages to continue to be redirected to a new page to prevent
traffic loss and uphold best SEO practices.
