Jason’s Weekly De-Scramble 3.7.25

Good afternoon,

Hope everyone had a great week and has enjoyed this beautiful weather…

We continue to work on the golf course, and we continue to work on the checklist that we’ve given the Maintenance team to accomplish. This week the fairways, tees, and approaches around greens all had Imodium sulfate put down in these areas.

This coming week we will continue to work on the golf course as we will do the following items on the golf course:

  • Top-dress, brush and roll all the greens on Monday
  • Continue to do daily irrigation audits
  • Edge bunkers
  • Continue to work on weak areas of the greens with new sod
  • Work on cart traffic areas

As, I’ve said we have a good checklist we are working on for the golf course and we continue to move forward, and we are getting closer each day to growing season.

I know everyone is getting a chance to meet all the new employees and hopefully everyone is getting to know their names. They are all doing a great job learning the POS system as well as learning everyone’s names.
Stop by the Golf Shop and getting your supplies for the course and next week we will have sale on TaylorMade Noodle Golf Balls, stock up.

Normally $29.95 per box of 15 balls, on sale for $21.95! Great deal and good golf ball. Also, all the items on the rack near the window are 50% off… Great deals, stop by and check them out.

Jason’s Weekly De-Scramble 3.14.25

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone had a great week and once again enjoyed this beautiful weather…

We continue to spend time on the golf course and continue to look forward in the direction we want to be in. I know that there are a lot of voices currently about the conditions and I understand. I’ve spent numerous hours the golf course this week and we spent 7 hours with the Regional Director of Agronomy yesterday, and we have a very good plan in place and have the support from the Vice President of Science & Agronomy, he was on the property last week and will be back this coming up week. Yes, there have been some mistakes made and they are being corrected on a daily basis. We’ve given ourselves a timeline to show significant improvements and we need some patience, and I know you’ve heard this before, but we are using different resources that haven’t been used before.

Next week we will have numerous projects that we will be doing to help the course.

  • We will continue to top-dress, brush and roll the greens and if we have the window before golfers start, we need to get a spike into the plans
  • With walking all the greens and spending time on them, we will go back and repair the sodded areas on the greens that were done properly, but after watching the morning team and another set of eyes the roller is making this happen to these areas.  We will stop rolling those areas until they get better.
  • They have spent numerous hours inspecting the irrigation to make sure we are they hitting all areas of the golf course and continue to change heads, so they reach all these areas.  Also, I know we’ve had numerous phone calls this week with individuals stating the water is running.  The only way we can check these heads is to turn the water on.  It won’t run long but we need to do this.
  • Continue to fertilize the golf course to continue to push growth.  We did the greens and tees this week.  This is also another reason the irrigation could be running.

As I stated above the Maintenance team has a very detailed checklist to move this course in a better condition. We need positive comments and positive attitudes during this process and trying something different. We do care about this property very much and we don’t like making mistakes or not having what you want. We’ve chosen these careers as we want the same things and sometimes mistakes make us take a few steps back but at the same time, we have the positive attitudes to move forward in a positive way.

Please sign up for the following golf events and this is last call for Member / Guest and I’m very excited to have the biggest sign up for the Member / Guest:

  • March 21st,22nd & 23rd – Member – Guest – Friday: please make your own practice round time. Saturday and Sunday will be 8:30 Shotgun Starts
  • April 3rd, 4th & 5th – Member – Member – 8:30 Shotgun Starts

F&B had a great week had another successful party Wednesday evening and people are enjoying the Wednesday Entertainment as well…

  • Sunday – March 22nd – Breakfast – Chicken Waffles – $14.95

Another great week of specials please call and make reservations and enjoy a nice meal with your friends or family.

Also, it was brought to my attention or individuals were curious of who makes the specials this comes from the Chef, and I know he tries to be creative and keep these items within a reasonable price as we continue to see price increases in food on a daily basis. Also, we just can’t order individual items we have to order by cases. We would love to hear ideas if someone want to see if we can do that for them.

One other item, I know that the team has made some minor mistakes when taking orders or it is coming from the kitchen, and we’ve taken all the comments and have continued to work with the new staff members to make sure they are communicating with everyone properly and making sure food is correct.

Don’t forget all the fun activities what we have in the coming month:

  • Karaoke & Name that Tunes in Fairfax Hall
  • Live Entertainment on Wednesday and Fridays in the Restaurant and Tavern
  • March 22nd – Come dance and enjoy the Live Band Blue Stone Circle in Fairfax Hall

  • April 9th – Sports Trivia in the Restaurant

I appreciate everyone’s time and hope everyone has a great weekend, and I want everyone to know that I see the issues and have a great belief that we will overcome these issues and become better each day. We take the criticism and work with the team members and explain to them what we are trying to create. I have no excuses and with positive attitudes and positive thoughts we will overcome these issues and only be a better property.

Enjoy your weekend and please let me know if you have any questions and I do try my best to get back to everyone as fast as I can, but I’ve been out of the office on the course a lot this past week.

Thanks,

Jason’s Weekly De-Scramble 2.28.25

Good afternoon,

I hope everyone has had a great week and is enjoying this beautiful weather…

As we end February and start March we had a good week in all areas of the property. We continue to have wonderful teaching moments with all the new staff and continue to get better. I appreciate all the wonderful comments I’ve received from everyone as we’ve had numerous positive changes. As I said this will be a process to get where we want to be, and I see it daily that we are getting close.

Had a very successful week on the golf course and have a great plan for the course moving forward to make it better. We had our Regional Director of Agronomy on property and has suggested a few items for us to look at and continue to head in the direction that the Golf Course needs to be in:

  • Irrigation – We have very weak areas on the course, and this is caused by poor irrigation and irrigation heads. Todd is going hole by hole checking each head and watching the coverage it produces, and we will determine if we need to make changes or add heads.
  • Greens – Greens are trending in the correct direction and as most of you have seen we’ve placed new sod down on some of the bad areas of the greens and we will continue to do this to the bad greens. Also, moving forward every Monday we will be topdressing, brushing it in and then will roll the greens.  This will help the greens to continue to move in the correct direction.  We’ve also ordered a part for the cup cutter to help make sure we are cutting holes properly and replacing them as well.
  • POA – Yes, the POA is not great in some areas, and we’ve sprayed all of these areas and as I said a few weeks ago it takes around 14 days for the plant to show it’s dying. We have looked at our pre-emergent plans for the remaining of the year and have made some adjustments.
  • Fertilizing – We are going to get very aggressive with this in the next few weeks and we are moving back to more of a granular fertilizer so you will see that out there. We will be pushing a lot of Nitrogen & Iron.
  • Cart Traffic – I bring this up weekly as this is a big issue for us and for the golf course. Moving forward we will be putting up stakes and ropes and will be moving them daily so we can control the areas where everyone is driving.  Also, if we can get everyone to stay on cart paths around tees and greens this would help out tremendously.

It was a great visit and had a lot of positive comments as well as learning moments for the team so we can get better and have a better golf course.

Hopefully, everyone has had a chance to meet the staff in the Golf Shop as I’m excited to have them and they are all doing well learning the policies and have brought great ideas to the table. Please give them so time to get to learn everyone and welcome them to the team.

Please sign up for the following events:

  • March 21st,22nd & 23rd – Member – Guest – Friday: please make your own practice round time. Saturday and Sunday will be 8:30 Shotgun Starts
  • April 3rd, 4th & 5th – Member – Member – 8:30 Shotgun Starts

If you can sign up for these events soon so with all the product I’ve ordered, we can make sure it’s on property, on time.

Please stop by the Golf Course and check out the merchandise and we just got some new Adidas Golf Shoes that are for the Masters Week!!

F&B continues to get better in all areas, and we continue to try to come up with different ideas on how to get people to support us, as we can’t be successful with out the residents here. I heard that some are upset about the prices of items, and we are charging what we are being charged by the vendors and trying to make a profit for the restaurant.

Please see the specials for next week:

If anyone signed up for the Band on February 28th I have gone and gave everyone their money back to the credit card you used to buy you ticket. It does take 5 to 10 business days for this to come back to your account.

Also, don’t forget about other fun items we have planned in the community:

  • Make a reservation for Friday evening for live Entertainment
  • March 22nd – we have another band in Fairfax Hall you can get tickets on the Arlington Ridge Golf Website.

Have a great weekend and please let me know if you have any questions.
