POSITION OVERVIEW
The Player Ambassador/Starter serves as the face of CommonGround. This position is responsible for managing the start of play as well as the pace of play on for golfers playing the Championship golf course. Position duties include:
COMPENSATION
$14 to $15 per hour
DUTIES
- Assist with setup and teardown of the league and/or tournaments.
- Assist with pulling carts and putting away carts.
- Maintains inventory levels of guest supplies on the 1st & 10th tee boxes.
- Coordinate weather delays with Golf Shop and assists patrons.
- Maintain inventory levels of guest supplies on Ambassador Cart – tees, pencils, scorecards, and first aid kit.
As Starter - Check-in and record all players at the first tee.
- Perform starter’s orientation to all groups.
- Inform and emphasize the pace of play and other playing expectations for the course.
- Communicate effectively with the Golf Shop and Player Ambassador to manage play.
As Player Ambassador - Accurately records tee-off times, turn times, and finish times.
- Promotes any “on course” activities.
- Manage all on-course play.
- Communicate effectively with Golf Shop to maintain accurate records concerning all groups’ pace of play.
- Check course water coolers daily and communicate with Player Services Attendants.
- Fill divots with sand and fix ball marks on greens as time permits.
- Greet on-course customers and provide assistance where needed.
- Inform groups of their pace and enforce pace of play rules in a friendly manner.
- Assist in pulling out and putting away carts as time permits.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
- Self-motivated
- Great people skills
EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
- Previous experience in a golf-related service position is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work performed is physical in nature and requires sufficient stamina and strength to:
- Occasionally squat and kneel to perform golf instruction and assist in course maintenance.
- Frequent step-up/down and to safely operate and enter and exit golf carts and vehicles.
- Occasional lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds from the floor to overhead to empty buckets of range balls into machine.
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including pickup trucks, golf cars, and other golf operations-related equipment.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Commonground Golf Course is looking for a few more members to add to the grounds crew for the 2022 season. We are looking for full time seasonal employees who work roughly 40 hours a week and part time employees to work the morning shifts, typically around 20-25 hours a week. This position works Monday-Friday and every other weekend. No prior golf course maintenance experience required. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, detail oriented, and able to follow instructions.
COMPENSATION
$15 – $16 per hour
DUTIES (include but are not limited to)
- Bunker maintenance
- Mowing
- String Trimming
- Course Set up
- This job does require early morning start times (5:00 AM) and work on every other weekend.
